The programme for this year’s annual Leeds Digital Festival has been unveiled and it promises to be the biggest and most diverse in its four-year history – more than 50 events will take place in the city throughout November.
The Festival, which is a celebration of the region’s digital sector, starts with a free-to-attend launch party on the 1st November which will showcase five of the Festival’s November events. There will be a bar and live music throughout the evening from local bands.
Other Festival highlights include:
A digital check-in, check-out adventure game being held in Leeds city centre and a unique four-a-side football tournament part-played on football pitches, part-played on arcade games highlights the diverse nature of the events on offer.
The Festival, which is sponsored by Leeds Brewery and Orchard recruitment consultants, will also incorporate the gala dinners for the finals of the Cream Awards and Dadi Awards. The full programme of events is available on this website.
John Prior, Director of Projects and Service Delivery at twentysix in Leeds, who led the website development project and is on the steering group for the Festival, said: “The line-up of events and the diverse range of subjects will make this a great month to be in Leeds for anyone who is interested in digital.
“It’s been a truly collaborative event a long time in the making, with everyone involved volunteering their time and company resources for free.
“The fact that it has reached the scale it has, with more than 50 events across an entire month, is a great endorsement of the depth and breadth of the city’s digital sector and something Leeds should be rightly proud of.”
